It is now a requirement that an urban development must have a plan for managing and purifying storm water. Green floes, sedimentation dams, purification plants.
Storm water pollution is varied and complex, the current purification methods are rather simplistic and are largely dependent upon a “one size fits all” approach. Conventional filters for storm water drains tend to block flow when it rains heavily and offer negligible benefits in between rain events. For every ten persons (approx) there is an existing storm water drain, catchpit or road gully. Some 50,000,000 within the EU alone and more than 1,000,000 in the UK and Yes, most of them discharge polluted water straight into the environment. Many consultants, contractors and end users may be unaware of their new stormwater treatment responsibilities or are simply unable to find a proven solution.

Our floating filter absorbs all 33 prioritised substances included in the EU water framework directive 2000/60/EG whilst allowing silts to be captured. By using this solution compliance becomes very easy as it treats storm water pollution at its source, both flow and quality is addressed, uniquely the RhinoPod and RhinoPod Plus, unlike other filters, does not interfere with the flow through the stormwater drain and adjusts accordingly if the pressure increases.
This innovative construction is a game changer when it comes to managing stormwater pollution in the UK i.e. directly in the catchpit or road gully. The RhinoPod uses multiple NANO absorbents in order to address different classes of pollutants (oil, metals, organics) in a single solution. For new developments our RhinoPod Plus Solution, a Pod and Chamber Combined is ideal, it offers traditional silt capture and new generation filtration protection in a one-piece factory fitted chamber, bespoke as standard to meet site specific inlet orientations and invert levels.
